The Akashic Tarot: The Buddha Prepares (Number 13)

In this blog post we will discuss The Buddha Prepares, which is the 13th card of the Major Arcana.

The Buddha Prepares card is the 13th card in the Major Arcana of the Akashic Tarot. When this card comes up, it's all about the time and the timing of things. The intuitive meaning of the card is as follows:

Upright Meaning:

When the Buddha Prepares card comes out upright, it is all about timing, patience and waiting.

The card depicts a Buddha or Tibetan Monk in an orange gown sitting in nature. The scenery is grassy and appears to be either spring or summer, as everything is green and in full bloom. Around him you can see a group of other people of a variety of backgrounds, ethnicities, ages and colors. The people are all in the same Buddha-pose and either meditating or waiting. The Buddha is illuminated from his heart center and also around his head crown. There is no motion in this picture, it is all about meditating, being silent, waiting and preparing. There is also a beautiful light in the backdrop of the scenery, giving the scene an ethereal feel.

The meaning of this card is preparation and that the real wisdom lies in preparing for the time that lies ahead instead of jumping into action. Don't rush into or hurry things. Take your time and things will align in the way they have to. If you are actually preparing for an exam or anything ahead, this card can literally allude to the preparation period you have ahead.

Love:

Whoever you are connecting with, this person might be preparing and might not be much in an action mode. Their inaction might seem annoying to you but everyone has their own timing going on and so it's best to honor the phase this person is in.

Overall meaning:

This card depicts patience, preparation, inaction, silence and finding peace.

Reverse Meaning:

When the Buddha Prepares card comes out in reverse, this indicates the exact opposite from the upright meaning. It is a great time to jump into action or act upon things. The tides have turned and now is the time for whatever you were wondering about. If decisions need to be made, the timing is now. This card might indicate more of an action process than thought process.
