In this blog post we will discuss Archangel Raphael, which is the eighth card of the Major Arcana.
The Archangel Raphael card is the eighth card in the Major Arcana of the Akashic Tarot. I do not work with the angels, archangels or other entities and angelic beings (read the separate blog post here). I also do not call in Spirit misguides and other mischievous entities. However, I still read the archangel cards in this deck. Just in my very own specific way. The intuitive meaning of the card is as follows:
Upright Meaning:
When the Archangel Raphael card comes out upright, it is all love and matters of the heart. The time ahead may be a great time and opportunity to heal matters of the heart. For example when experiencing a breakup or broken heart. The man or "archangel" / entity depicted is in a forest setting. The colors of this card are mostly green, which is the color of the heart. In his hand he is holding the power and a green ball. There is healing energy going to his heart. Behind him, the light tries to shine through and illuminate his way and the figure himself. Aside from the heart matters, this cards also indicates how much power we hold. Something not to be dismissed when it comes to our own healing journey (and something, which the New Age and religion alike love to take away from us).
This card may also symbolize to go deeper into your own self-love and experience the love you have for yourself on a deeper and whole new level. Love can be expressed in many ways. In addition to romantic love, we can also experience love to other people, pets, animals, situations and so-on. Therefore, this card may even indicate healing the love we have for one another or the planet. Or healing a traumatic situation and it being an auspicious time right now.
Love:
Perhaps the person you are wondering about is going through a dark phase and situation. Or they are healing their heart from a breakup. Mending their broken heart is the first step in opening it up again. Your person may need a phase of rest, solitude or silence away from the distractions of the world.
Overall meaning:
Healing matters of the heart and love.
Reverse Meaning:
When the Archangel Raphael card comes out in reverse, this may be a sign that a situation which is causing heartbreak or has caused a broken heart cannot be ignored anymore. Now is the time to attend to your inner turmoil, emotions and soul messages. It is not the time to start a new relationship or other romantical ventures. Healing takes time and once it begins it's an ongoing process. However, it is the first step towards something different and new. And honoring yourself again.

This tarot card deck directly connects you with your intuition and is open to interpretation by anyone willing to expand their awareness and tapping into the higher force, abundance and wisdom of your own personal inner knowing. The name also implies a connection to your own, personal Akashic Records.
