Happy spring! More than 87% of the world's population live in the Northern Hemisphere. This means that for the majority of the world, we are now ringing in a new season called spring!
Spring may bring fresh new energy and directness into our lives. With the actual new year following suit very closely on March 25th, it does feel like a brand-new start in some ways. No matter what time of year you are currently celebrating, this time of March is known to bring in great changes, a fresher, newer energy and overall just a switch in lifestyles. It is no wonder that many people are drawn to do a "spring clearing" or "cleanup" particularly during this time of year.
Indeed, it may be the perfect time to start up those projects again, which were never finished in the past few months due to procrastination, lack of drive or overall odd sense of timing. As we are entering a new Mercury Retrograde next month on April 21st, we will already experience its shadow period approx. 10-14 days beforehand (which is around April 7th already this time). March could therefore be a good time to clear things up or get things going before another wave of miscommunication and errors may hit us next month. As some of you might know, our calendar was changed a few hundred years ago and switched from the Julian calendar system to the Gregorian one. Not only did this bring in some change, which the generations to come had to experience, but it also erased and muddled up a few of our important holidays. Was all of this part of erasing our history?
No matter what purpose the calendar change served, our actual New Year used to be celebrated on March 25th! Back in the days (during the medieval ages and before), people used to usher in the new year exactly on this date, which is also why you don't hear of any accounts of people setting off fireworks on January 1 or around that time. March 25th is a powerful date and also equals a "7" number (2+5=7). It is considered a highly fortunate number according to specific types of numerology. It coincides with spring (March 20/21) and also Easter, Passover, sometimes Ramadan and a few other dates the world likes to throw at us. I therefore invite you to set intentions around that day or to do something for yourself on the former New Year. Powerful energies of manifestation can be used at any point in year but spring (or the actual new year) might be a good time for it, again.
